ABOUT ROB

I am Rob Rand, the owner and operator of North Country Tools. 

My love and passion for tools and automotive started as a child growing up in a repair shop my dad owned. I always loved the atmosphere of repair shops and always idolized the tool guy. I would day dream from time to time what it would be like to be a tool guy and have all the cool stuff on my truck and get to help technicians of all kinds. As I grew up I also really enjoyed the construction industry and found myself frustrated with how hard it was to buy construction tools and have someone stand behind them and make it easy to warranty and repair my tools like the tool guy that visited repair shops. I met my wife and got married and I helped her start a successful business and decided that if we could do it once we should be able to start my tool business. I realized the idea of being "the tool guy" was possible with the help of my family and friends. After many, many hours of research I decided to "just go for it".

North Country Tools was born in February, 2025

I didn't want North Country Tools to only be a tool supplier for only mechanics when I knew I could give the same great service to the construction industry and homeowners as well! 

My wife and I decided to buy a truck, stock it with tools and stock the garage with plenty of inventory and give it a go!

One day a week I am offering to be stationary so I can meet up with traveling workers like carpenters and masons who has their work location change with every job and couldn't be regularly scheduled onto a weekly route. Saturday mornings I'll park the tool truck in a designated location, while doing inventory and paper work and be available to provide all customers who couldn't be on my regular weekly route.
